A New Way to Target Alzheimer's Disease
(Source: NYU) - The pathological embrace of two proteins plays a key role in the development of Alzheimer's disease by triggering the formation of neuron-killing plaques of amyloid beta protein. A group of NYU scientists have devised a way to reduce amyloid beta deposition by interfering with the deadly embrace of these proteins.


Yale Takes Part in Alzheimer Med Study
(Source: New Haven Register) - People with Alzheimer's disease have a higher than average rate of adult-onset diabetes, and people with adult-onset diabetes are apparently at a higher risk of Alzheimer's disease. The Yale School of Medicine is participating in the first large study to investigate a diabetes medication to treat Alzheimer's disease.
